一般常見家中使用的網路線又稱為乙太網路線，『乙太網』相較於光纖來說成本較低，仍是目前應用最普遍的區域網路技術。先前介紹過的『LANtest kit』是屬於基本型的網路測試儀，在2002年Hobbes推出界面、功能上更加優化的專業型網路測試儀- 『LANtest Pro』。LANtest Pro能判別線纜短路、斷路、錯絞、分叉等對應狀況，施工人員可經由簡單的燈號辨識快速地知道哪一對針腳發生錯誤，偵錯模式能分別對每對針腳做進一步的測試診斷。即使線纜在已安裝的情況下，僅有一個施工人員也能使用副機進行遠端檢測。

The network cables used in households are also called “Ethernet cable.” Ethernet with relatively inexpensive costs is the most commonly used network technology. In 2002, Hobbes launched LANtest Pro, an advanced version of LANtest kit we introduced before. LANtest Pro can identify cable short, open, split, miswire and reversed, and tells you the testing results by LED indicators. With debug mode, you can see the testing results more clearly. LANtest Pro with remotes that allows technician to test installed cable alone, even with a far cable end.
